Ed McMahon dies at 86 | Canon O’ Brien, Stars pays tribute to Ed McMahon

Ed McMahon died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California on Monday. McMahon was fighting a multitude of health problems, including cancer. He passed away at 86.

Edward Leo Peter “Ed” McMahon, Jr. was an American comedian, game show host, announcer, and television personality. He was best known as Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show” sidekick from 1962 to 1992 and as the host of the talent show Star Search from 1983 to 1995.

Conan O’ Brien has paid tribute for Ed McMahon. Conan O’ Brien quoted, “It is impossible I think, for anyone to imagine the ‘Tonight Show With Johnny Carson’ without Ed McMahon. Ed’s laugh was really the soundtrack to that show.”
