Actor Jim Carrey purposely gained 30 pounds and is on a mission to complete the 50 pounds weight gain for a dream film role as the chubby member of the trio in the upcoming Three Stooges movie.
Jim Carrey showed up on Thursday to UCLA’s 2009 Visionary Ball in Beverly Hills a portlier physique, appearing a little heavier than usual, and with a shaggy beard.
The Three Stooges of the early to mid–20th century were an American vaudeville and comedy act, best known for their numerous short subject films.
The Farrellys brothers’ have been trying to get The Three Stooges film off the ground for about ten years, hopping between Warner Bros. and Columbia before finally landing on MGM. Sean Penn was replaced by Paul Giamatti who will play Larry, and the hilarious trio is set with Benicio Del toro as Moe, and Jim Carrey as Curly.
The Three Stooges is expected to hit theaters in 2010.
