You have the option to restrict the content and applications that can be viewed or used on your iPad.
For instance, you could stop the iPad playing any movies that have been rated PG-13 or R. You can even prevent an unauthorized person from buying and installing apps from the App Store.
Here’s how to enable Parental Controls or Restrictions – click on Settings, then General and scroll down to Restrictions. Click on this and then Enable Restrictions. If this is the first time you have accessed this feature you will be prompted to enter and re-enter a four-number passcode.
Then you will arrive at the Restrictions control panel where you can choose which applications can be used as well as the level of access to rated content such as movies, music and applications.

FYI, there is also the option to setup a Safe Browser app like Mobicip for filtered Internet access on the iPad. The optional Premium service provides web-based parental controls and monitoring features.
Full disclosure: This post was made by a member of the Mobicip team and we stand to gain through the sale of our software. Our intent is not to spam but to inform and educate parents about the availability of this option.
