American Idol Season 9: Simon Cowell leaving

The 9th season of American Idol will premiere on January 12, 2010, on Fox. American Idol Season 9 will have a 4-hour, 2-night premiere for the open audition rounds. Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi remain as judges in the show while Ellen DeGeneres will permanently replace Paula Abdul as the fourth judge.

The voting for Season 9 will begin by February 23rd.

Guest judges for American Idol Season 9 Auditions include:

Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Joe Jonas, Mary J. Blidge, Joe Jonas, Kristin Chenoweth, Shania Twain, Neil Patrick Harris and Victoria Beckham.

On January 11, 2010, Simon Cowell announced that the ninth season of the show would be his last as a judge. Simon will leave American Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of (U.K. talent show) X Factor to U.S. TV in 2011.

Amanda Colley Van Cool who once worked as a construction worker in Alaska was named as Sole Survivor of Survivor Philippines Palau (SPP), Friday late evening.

The ‘probinsyanang tisay’ received four votes against three votes of Justine which made her the latest winner of Survivor Philippines Palau. She won three million pesos tax free.

Survivor Philippines Season 1 winner JC Tuiseco handed Amanda the sole survivor necklace.

Katy Perry sings to help

American singer-songwriter Katy Perry is lending a hand to the victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng that claimed lives and created massive damage to property.

“I think it’s wonderful,” says Katy about turning her Manila concert into a fund-raiser titled Katy Perry Rocks for Relief. It will be held tonight at 8 at SM Mall of Asia.

“The moment I got off from the plane, I thought maybe I’ll just go to my hotel and rest,” Katy continues. “They gave me the opportunity to be hands-on and go out to help people affected by the (flooding). (It’s) knowing where you guys are coming from.”

It has changed Katy’s perspective “to do more than just sing and to help out people.”

Arnel Pineda and Neal Schon of Journey, American band Mae and Jed Madela will also lend a helping hand in this concert, they waived their talent fees for the event.

What do the fans expect from the concert? Well, it will be a night full of rockin’ with pop touches. You will also see pink, knowing how girlie and feminine Katy is. Perhaps, there will be fabulous dresses, too.

Michael Jackson dies of heart attack | Michael Jackson dead at 50

I can’t believe it! News announces that Michael Jackson the King of Pop is dead because of massive heart attack. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center. Michael Jackson dies at the age of 50.

Michael Jackson was preparing for his concert he’s supposed greatest comeback. Michael was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, his first concert is set on July 13. He was in rehearsals in Los Angeles for the concert.

Ed McMahon dies at 86 | Canon O’ Brien, Stars pays tribute to Ed McMahon

Ed McMahon died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California on Monday. McMahon was fighting a multitude of health problems, including cancer. He passed away at 86.

Edward Leo Peter “Ed” McMahon, Jr. was an American comedian, game show host, announcer, and television personality. He was best known as Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show” sidekick from 1962 to 1992 and as the host of the talent show Star Search from 1983 to 1995.

Conan O’ Brien has paid tribute for Ed McMahon. Conan O’ Brien quoted, “It is impossible I think, for anyone to imagine the ‘Tonight Show With Johnny Carson’ without Ed McMahon. Ed’s laugh was really the soundtrack to that show.”

Stars who knew him best in the entertainment community reacted to Ed McMahon’s passing. They take a moment to remember Ed and all that he contributed to the world of entertainment.

In his Twitter account, gossip blogger Perez Hilton whose real name is Mario Lavandeira ask his followers for help after he says he was assaulted by Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am and his security guards.

Hilton tweeted that he was bleeding after being assaulted outside a party at the club Cobra following the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada on Sunday night.

To answer the allegations, Will.i.am also created a Twitter account of his own. The singer then posted a video response where he detailed the night’s events. Will.i.am denies the assault and belittles the blogger for using Twitter to get help. Watch his video below.
